Terms of use

As per US law and other national copyright laws, an “idea, procedure, process, system, method of operation, concept, principle, or discovery” is not eligible for copyright protection. Slovanto as an idea of communication with a mixture of the most prevalent words from Slavic languages is also not subject to copyright as the national languages belong to public domain.

The idea of the common Slavic language should be credited to Juraj Križanić (c. 1618 – 12 September 1683), also known as Jurij Križanič or Yuriy Krizhanich (Russian: Юрий Крижанич) who was a Croatian Catholic missionary. The language he created and used in his writing was called Ruski jezik ("Russian language"), but in reality it was a mixture of several Slavic languages.
