Adjective

In the dictionary, adjectives are denoted with + (plus sign) for example mal+ / мaл+ (small). By default adjectives have suffix +e so they can match neuter/plural:

+e

male diete, мaле дьете (small child)

zelene predmety, зелене предметы (green items)

Animate plural adjectives must have suffix (+i) in Nominative so they can match the subject:

+i

modri ljudi, мoдри люди (blue people)

Feminine adjectives must have suffix (+a) in Nominative so they can match the subject:

+a

dobra žena, добра жена (good woman/wife)

Masculine adjectives should have suffixes (+y/ы) in Nominative:

+y

dobry muž, добры муж (good man/husband)

+y can optionally be omitted

Adjective Negation

ne  не

dobr+ / добр+ (good)

ne dobr+ / не добр+ (not good)

South Slavic Trick

In southern slavic languages, masculine adjectives have lost the suffix. You can optionally skip the suffix at all or use general hard sign letter to simplify and generalize all adjective use:

dobrъ muž, добръ муж (good man/husband)
dobrъ žena, добръ жена (good woman/wife)
dobrъ dete, добръ дете (good child)
dobrъ ljudi, добръ люди (good people)

Adjective Creation

To create adjective from basic stem add n+ to the stem:

zna (know) → znany človiek (known human)
mraz (frost) → mrazny deń (frosty day)
zad (back) → zadne kolo (back wheel)
zvezda (star) → zvezdne nebo (starry sky)
koreń (root) → korenni ljudi (indigenous people)
železo (iron) → železny predmet (iron item)
koža (leather) → kožena kurtka (leather jacket)

If you create adjective from noun (similar of English "of") for example materials, use ov+ suffix:

apple juice → jablkovy sok
wool sweater → vlnovy sveter
stormy weather → burova pogoda
price list price → cennikova cena
